If you are interested in purchasing bedding, rugs, lighting or furniture from our store, Lavender Fields offers complimentary design assistance. Complimentary design assistance includes making fabric selections, ordering fabric, finish and rug samples and ordering the final product. Interior Design Services

If you are looking for more than just design assistance the designers at Lavender Fields are available for full design services. Our design services include selecting paint colors, faux paint finishes, fabrics and wallpaper, redecorating, window treatments, creating a nursery, arranging your furniture and accessories, creating a design plan, shopping for furniture and home accents. Historic Interior Design Services

Do you have an older home that you know has great possibilities and you just don't know where to go with it? You can give almost any home instant charm. Whether you live in a 18^th century Colonial, a High Victorian, a cute 1950s Cape Cod or a classic new home and want an historic look, we can help you achieve it. You can decorate your home the way it should look for its era or just add a bit of warmth and charm.  You don't have to spend a fortune to add a touch of class and imagination to your home. Attention to detail and choosing the best pieces you can afford without overdoing it or over-decorating is the key. This unfortunately is something that a lot of people cant visualize. Some styles we specialize in: Early Colonial, Victorian Era, Art Deco/Jazz Era, 1950s, Adirondack, Southern Coastal. 

Antique and Art Acquisition and Personal Shopping

The Lavender Fields Designers are available to shop for your design needs. If we do not sell it we can find it for you. We specialize in art and antique acquisition. We can locate that hard to find item, put together a list of basics accents for your house, stock your beach house, prepare you for the holiday season, shop for your holiday gifts or prepare for the new baby. We charge an hourly fee for personal shopping.

Online Design 

Lavender Fields offers online design services by phone, email or Skype  We offer a basic design consultation which is free of charge. A basic design consultation includes a phone consult or email consult. During the consult we will discuss your project needs and get an overall idea of what you are looking to do. Our next step is to Create the Design Plan. The Design Plan is by room and our fee is $100.00. The fee is used towards your purchase of $500.00 or more of Lavender Fields merchandise. The Design Plan will be created for the room of your choice and will include full design services from paint selection, furniture, bedding and accent selection. A Lavender Fields purchase is not necessary.

New Year...New Arrivals...

A fresh new year and fresh new arrivals. We are so excited about all the beautiful new products we will be introducing this year. When I say we search the globe trust me we really do. Selecting products for the shop is a very serious and big part of our business plan each year. We just do not go to a show and place orders. So much is considered. First, quality and design. If we will not use it we do not sell it. Second, craftsmanship. We examine how items are made and how they will hold up. Third, where they are made. We would like to support local craftsman and craftsman in the USA as well as worldwide as long as things are not mass produced. So when an item is put on our website or in our shop you can trust that the item was carefully selected by us. We hope you enjoy all of our new arrivals this year. We are adding items each week so check back frequently.

Our Home for the Holidays

Being in the retail business it is easy to get caught up in the holiday rush and forget to take the time to just enjoy your own home. I have learned over the years to start decorating early so I can really enjoy it whenever I am home. This year I started right before Thanksgiving and I am so glad I did. We really took the time to cherish our home and enjoy our special decorations that we have collected over the years. Here is a little peak into our home decorated for the holidays.

We are so honored this year to have won the best Holiday Window Contest in our sweet village of Port Jefferson, New York. Our theme is I'll Be Home for Christmas. Many of our customers talk excitedly about their college children coming home for Christmas and about relatives coming to visit so we thought lets create a theme about how it would feel for someone to come home for Christmas and get greeted by the warmth of home represented by arriving at their front door. Over the last week people were asked to walk around the village and vote for their favorite window. There were so many nice windows to choose from and the contest made our town look so festive.

Trimming a Tree for Every Room

If you’re feeling extra holly jolly now that it’s December and just love decorating, think about this: more than one Christmas tree. That’s right. Who says you can’t have more fun and more merriment? We love putting up multiple Christmas trees each year to cater to each room’s aesthetic. 

The Shabby Chic Tree

Add a festive touch to a shabby chic room by complementing existing décor. If your room is decorated with beautiful and feminine accessories,opt for a tree that just screams holiday chic. Our bedroom is the place where we bring out all the pink! 

Start with an all-white synthetic tree for an antique base, or go for a traditional evergreen. If it’s not pre-lit, we recommend wrapping white or pink lights all around! Now it’s time for ribbon. Use burlap, lace or pastel tones for a chic touch or even satin ribbon looks beautiful! Then decorate with pretty ornaments, like our  Snowflake Ornament and our Heart Ornament. Pair it with neutral hues throughout the room to create a winter wonderland! The Naturalist Tree
