With a name like Lavender Fields you must know we are lavender lovers! If you walk into our shop you will get the instant aroma of lavender. Customers say they can smell it from outside. Lavender is known to relax you and create a sense of well being and peace. We have lavender planted all around our house and plan on planting some around out shop as well this summer.

Here are some tips on growing lavender:

  • All lavender varieties like full sun and, light well-drained slightly alkaline soil.
  • The lavender plant does not like to be crowded and requires good air circulation.
  • Pruning lavender is important to encourage new growth and flowers. You should prune it twice  a year: Once in a spring in the beginning of growing season and once after the end of flowering as well.
  • After about 6 years of growing, lavender starts to look unsightly, you’ll need to rejuvenate it by heavy pruning or replace that plant with a new one.

Visit our Lavender Shop for all things lavender - dried lavender bunches, lavender sachets, lavender candles, lavender soaps, lavender hand lotion, lavender essential oils, lavender themed gifts.
